Venue Rentals at Maitland Tower HippoCampus
As we continue the restoration of this landmark site—home to the historic Maitland Tower and over a kilometre of natural shoreline—we’re often asked whether our spaces are available for events.
While hosting events is not our primary focus, we do welcome a limited number of gatherings that are meaningfully aligned with our mission: to connect humanity and nature through arts, culture, ecological stewardship, Indigenous reconciliation, and radical accessibility.
The Maitland Tower HippoCampus is a place of regeneration, reflection, and creativity. We prioritize events that deepen community connection, support nature-positive outcomes, and reflect the spirit of the land.
Most hosted events will be facilitated through program partners whose expertise aligns with our values. A small number may be hosted directly by our team.
Events we welcome include:
- Retreats for non-profits, charities, and community organizations
- Local food gatherings and nature-based culinary experiences
- Film and photography productions that honour the site’s heritage and ecology
- Celebrations such as baby showers or weddings with a nature-conscious ethos
- Launches and showcases for mission-aligned products and services
- Science and education programs focused on river ecology and nature literacy
- Art and cultural performances, installations, and workshops
- Prototype testing and demonstrations of nature-based solutions

In the WEDDINGS category, we have partnered with event planner
Lara Diab is the Lead Planner and Owner. She met with us last winter and embraced our environmental and heritage goals.
